Choosing a therapist is a significant first step, and finding the right person is essential. My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and collaborative space where we can explore the challenges you're facing. I am dedicated to using the most effective, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to help you build practical skills, regain control, and move towards a more fulfilling life.
My practice is built on two decades of experience in mental health, beginning with the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust in 2003. My specialist CBT training was undertaken at the prestigious University of Oxford, where I completed my initial qualifications, an MSc, and finally a DPhil (Doctorate) in CBT.
I am fully accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), the UK's leading body for CBT.
What this means for you: My deep, doctoral-level training from Oxford ensures that the therapy you receive is not just based on theory, but is grounded in the most current, scientifically-backed evidence for what works.
Since 2012, I have helped hundreds of people in both the NHS and private practice find a path through their most difficult challenges. This has given me extensive experience in treating a wide range of conditions, including:
Complex anxiety disorders such as OCD, health anxiety, and panic attacks.
The profound impact of PTSD and trauma.
Persistent depression, low self-esteem, and overwhelming self-criticism.
My recent role within Professor Paul Salkovskis’ highly specialised team at the Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Intervention Centre (SPIC) involves working with some of the most complex cases, ensuring my skills are continually honed at the highest level.
Alongside helping people with common mental health problems, I am passionate about advancing the field of CBT. I am part of a small team of clinical experts, alongside Dr. Tom Graham and led by Dr. Jane Gregory, who are pioneering the effective use of CBT for Misophonia.
What this means for you: My involvement in specialist treatment development means I can bring a creative, in-depth, and expert perspective to your unique situation, even with less common or poorly understood difficulties.
For over a decade, I have been responsible for training the next generation of therapists. As a Course Lead and Supervisor at the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre (OCTC), I teach on the University of Oxford's postgraduate CBT programmes.
What this means for you: My teaching role requires me to be constantly engaged with the latest research and therapeutic techniques. I bring this comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge to every single one of our sessions, ensuring you receive the highest standard of care available.
